SAFE ROOM is ultimately a deeply human story. Set during the October 7th attacks, it follows a doctor who, guided by a profound sense of responsibility, opens his home and safe room to strangers, among them a nine-month-pregnant woman, young children, and an elderly couple, and keeps them alive while they remain under siege. What unfolds is not only a story of survival, but also of humanity, courage, and the unexpected bonds formed between ordinary people in extraordinary circumstances.

While rooted in a specific moment in Israel, the film speaks to universal themes that can resonate broadly with Global audiences beyond the Jewish community: moral courage, civic responsibility, and the quiet heroism of individuals who choose to protect life even in the darkest moments.

About the Director – Haley Geffen
Haley Geffen is a six-time Emmy-winning director whose work spans commercials, documentary, and narrative filmmaking, with projects that have screened at major festivals and received international recognition. She directed the award-winning films Hey Girl and Jolie, and is also a Sundance alum as a producer on F^¢k ’Em R!ght B@¢k. Haley was selected to direct two long-form films for NBC examining the life and legacy of Ruth Bader Ginsburg. Her work is emotionally driven and character-centered, grounded in cinematic realism and a deep respect for human connection, and she is known for building trust with her subjects and capturing intimate, truthful moments with sensitivity and care.
